Can a Chilean Rose tarantula molt if it is on its front?

molting rose-hair

YES! This morning I discovered my rose-hair on her back, her molted shell next to her. It must have occured overnight.

Her shell was rightside up! Instead of flipping over then molting, she molted through her back. Leaving the shell, my struggling spider had flipped over and was lying on her back. She moved her legs so I knew she was alive.

I was concerned (like you probably) after all I read that this was not normal. I just kept watching and she turned herself over WITH NO ASSISTANCE.

Have a great time with your rose-hair!
