Can a collection agency charge you more money than what your credit report states you owe?

[Edit]

Answer

Yes. Remember that credit repost are usually any where from 30 to 90 days behind. So, if a debt was originally $100.00 when it was turned over to collection, the collection agency can then start adding thier own late charges which gets added to the original amount. So the credit report may say $100.00 but after the late fees it may actually now be more.

If you owe the money and are working with the collecton agency the best that you can can they tell me how much has to be paid by a certain time?  Do you owe the collection agency interest if no interest shows on your credit report?
