"Virginal" refers to the presence of what is known as the hymenal membrane. It is possible for women who have had penetration of their vagina to bleed after intercourse for several reasons. Remnants of the hymenal tissue can remain after the initial rupturing which by the way, may indeed rupture during other activities besides penetrating sex. Insufficient lubrication, vigorous peneration, as well as hormonal changes can all affect the vaginal tissue to the point of bleeding. ∙ 13y agoOh yes, not all bleed. And not all have their hymen intact due to sports etc or they have one that is very stretchy or were born without one. You know a woman is virgin by asking her, the same way as with men. It's a myth that all women have a hymen, that it always hurts or that everyone bleeds.
