You can only be arrested if there is either a warrant for your arest, or probable cause that you committed or are about to commit a crime. Probable cause is not a 'hunch' or a 'gut feeling' but rather must be based on particular information or evidence. The police may investigate and come to speak with a person they suspect of commiting a crime. A person is never under any obligation to speak to the police about anything. If you have not done anything unlawful, then there is no reason to be concerned.
