Can a homeowner be held liable if someone dies on their property?

[Edit]

Answer

Perhaps.

What if any liability could be assessed to the property owner would depend upon the circumstances.

If the person died due to the deliberate negligence of the property owner.

For instance, a firearm not properly secured, a minor being allowed access to alcohol or other illegal substance, or almost any action by the property owner that contradicts existing laws.
