Moving out of state after a layoff doesn't disqualify you -- the program is based on wages and payroll taxes, not geography. If you move after starting to get benefits in California, simply continue to follow the rules of the program and send in your biweekly claim forms to the same office as always. If you apply after moving, the process might get a bit tricky but is usually doable.

Any travel longer than 4.5 hours might result in a deduction for that day, even if it is a Sunday, as you are obligated to be able to come in for an interview on any given moment. Most states have different policies pertaining to spouses of military members and their ability to collect unemployment. Many states, especially if you are moving outside the U.S. will provide military spouses with unemployment benefits because it is through no fault of their own that they have to leave with their spouse. For more information go to the state's website that you are leaving from, or just Google whatever state employment security commission There you will find all the information you need pertaining to military spouses.

You can collect unemployment benefits if your employment is ended through no fault of your own, for instance for medical reasons or to move with a spouse who is relocated. The question is to whether benefits can be collected while living outside the United States.

If you were collecting unemployment benefits in one state and are eligible to continue collecting them but move to another state then you should still be able to collect unemployment but you must apply for unemployment in the new state you are moving to.

Each state has its own criteria for quitting your job (including the present question). Check with the "liable state" (the one you work in) for their allowances for voluntary quits.

Yes you can, just provide the necessary documents (sf-50), copy of orders.

Look for the statutes, but make sure you look for any recent amendments.

Good Luck!

You might want to call a lawyer or whoever is giving you the unemployment benefits. My best guess is no because you are leaving the state so you must apply for unemployment benefits for the state you relocate in. Keep on striving!

I don't think you can collect unemployment if you QUIT your job to relocate. If the company was relocating to California (or anywhere farther than 50 miles- I think), and you did not want to relocate, then I believe you can get unemployment.
