Can a relatively experienced backyard mechanic replace the timing belt on a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara V-6 without instruction or a manual? In: Suzuki Vitara |
[Edit] |
Answer
yes however youll need the manual to know the correct alignment setup
well actually there is no timing belt is a timing chain and u should not change that unless there is something wrong with it, dont even touch it
It has 3 timing chains on this motor and if it is not done correctly the valves will hit the pistons, they dont need to be replaced however the lower tensioner on the left side go bad alot
Answer
You would want to know what you are doing. it requires the removal of all of the injection system and alot of the electircal stuff. it actually has 5 timing chains. Its a nightmare, i did it just before xmas.
