(Not a doctor) I was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes when I was 3 years old. I have had and managed diabetes for 17 years. Yes, I suppose you could contract type 2 diabetes later on in life if you had the genetic coding for it, but it would most likely be unnoticeable. Both diabetes are just a resilience to insulin, type 1 being the worse, so yes you could contract it, but would it matter if you already had type 1? No, you'd still be nothing more than resistant to insulin. Oi Oi and good luck.

Insulin resistance is caused by obesity and a family history of insulin resistance. You can develop insulin resistance without these, but it's rare. Insulin resistance leads to type 2 diabetes

Answer

NO!A person with type 2 diabetes pancreas still produces insulin just not enough of it, BUT A person with type 1 diabetes pancreas no longer produces ANY insulin at all .SO unless there is a cure for diabetes where they have somehow found away to make the pancreas of a type 1 diabetic start to produce insulin, there is NO possible way for a person with type 1 diabetes to suddenly START producing a little insulin from their pancreas and magically become a type 2 diabetic!

Type 2 diabetics are resistant to insulin. Type 1 diabetics don't produce enough insulin in the first place. Un-treated or under-treated type 2 diabetics can become more like type 1 in later stages because over time the pancreas becomes more damaged and when that occurs, insulin injections can become necessary for them too.

depends on how you get it, If you are a type one its with you for life. Type 2 diabetes cannot be reversed but it can sometimes, with strict dieting and frequent blood testing, be forced into remission.

Type 2 diabetics in remission have blood sugar within normal ranges all the time, and don't require insulin or medication to keep it there. But they need to have a very controlled diet and continue checking their blood sugar every few days to make sure.

(1) Age: The majority of type 1 diabetes incidence under 40 years old, and 20 years of age the vast majority of young people and children with type 1 diabetes, only a very few exceptions; majority of type 2 diabetes in the elderly over the age of 40 people, people over the age of 50 suffering from type 1 diabetes rarely. In short, the younger, the easier it is to type 1 diabetes; the age, the more likely that type 2 diabetes.

(2) Weight: Diabetes occurs when the majority was overweight or obese type 2 diabetes, obesity more obvious, the more prone to type 2 diabetes; type 1 diabetes before the onset is normal or low body weight and more. Either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, after the onset of weight can be reduced to varying degrees, and type 1 diabetes tend to have significant weight loss.

(3) Clinical symptoms: type 1 diabetes had significant clinical symptoms such as polydipsia, polyuria, and more food, etc., that is, "Chronicles", and type 2 diabetes often do not have the typical "Chronicles" symptoms. A large number of people with type 2 diabetes is not obvious because of clinical symptoms is often difficult to determine when the onset, and some only know after checking blood sugar suffering from diabetes. Type 1 diabetes more prominent because of clinical symptoms, can be exactly that Guchang their onset time.

(4) Acute and chronic complications: type 1 and type 2 diabetes, a variety of acute and chronic complications may occur, but there are some differences between the types of complications. To acute complications in type 1 diabetes ketoacidosis-prone, less common type 2 diabetes ketoacidosis, but older persons prone to non-ketotic hyperosmolar coma. To chronic complications in type 1 diabetes complicated by retinal diseases easily, kidney disease and neuropathy, the occurrence of heart, brain, kidney disease or limb atherosclerosis is rare, but can occur in addition to type 2 diabetes and type 1 same fundus diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy, the heart, brain, renal vascular lesions in atherosclerosis higher incidence of hypertension is very common. Therefore, type 2 diabetics with coronary Heart disease and cerebrovascular accidents far more than type 1 diabetes, this is a very clear difference.

(5) Clinical Treatment: type 1 diabetes, insulin injections can only control high blood sugar, stable disease, oral hypoglycemic agents generally invalid. Type 2 diabetes through proper diet control and proper treatment of oral hypoglycemic agents can achieve some results, of course, when the treatment failure of oral hypoglycemic agents, islet B cell function tends to failure or severe acute and chronic complications, also indications of insulin.

What are some very facts about type 2 diabetes?

Type 2 Diabetes can be reversed when caught early by making dietary changes and increasing exercise. Often is can be controlled using oral hypoglycemics unlike Type 1 Diabetics who have to rely on insulin. One fact most people don't know is that Type 2 Diabetics can convert to Type 1 if they leave their diabetes unchecked for a period of time. This results in them having to do blood sugar checks and inject themselves with insulin to maintain a steady blood glucose level.
