It isn't meat that makes you fat. In fact it is meat that gives you some of the "feeling full" sensations. By not eating meat you may feel the need to eat more food to fill up.

You need to cut down on your fats, oils and sugars to lose weight. Then you need to exercise. You cannot expect to lose weight without exercising!

Try some simple food ideas:

- switch to low-fat or skim milk - don't use butter or margarine. Leave it off the potatoes and the sandwiches and anything else - stop using cheese - switch to wholemeal bread, rice, flour & pasta. It takes the body longer to process and you feel full longer - don't eat after 7pm at night - eat smaller portions - don't have soft drinks - use canola oil if you have to have oil
