Can acupuncture treat mental disorders?

Accupuncture could treat some symptoms or causes of mental disorder such as stress relief , pain levels, or chemical balance. Psychiatry actually does the same thing.

The idea behind all treatment of mental disorders is to alleviate the symptom or precipitating cause so the client can do their own "getting better".

If the treatment is very effective - such as treatment of a chemical imbalance - the client or patient could get better rapidly because they are functioning better than they have before.

With all mental disorders the "getting well" is actually unravelling behaviors and thought processes that got the client to the point of being "sick". That's a lonesome road that only they can walk. Professional help of any sort is just an assist.
