Another View: NOT NECESSARILY. Define more clearly what is meant by "Verbal Assault." One person's 'verbal assault' is another person's name calling and embarassment. There are no laws that can protect you from being embarassed or or ridiculed.

Some jurisdictisons do not even have such a criminal offense on their statute books, and in many others it is interpreted differently (e.g.: words, not accompanied by any assaultive actions, are Constitutionally protected free speech).
