It's quite possible, the time frame depends upon the state SOL pertaining to child support. The custodial parent can file in the state where the order was granted or in the state where the non-custodial parent resides. The petitioner should choose the state with the longest Statute of Limitation's when filing the claim.
If you're asking about retroactive support (support due for a period prior to the entry of the first order), no. If you're asking about past-due support (unpaid support that accrued as the result of an order), yes.
yes, but you may learn he was paying, without a court order and the mother lied.
until the child is 18
18
Yes, is that child under 18? Then, you owe child support.
Back child support is paid until paid in full, regardless of the age of the child.
Yes.
No. Child support arrears are owed to the parent.
No and you pay the support to the parent not the kid. If the child is 18 there is no longer a need for child support. If someone has been paying for you and believed they were the father they can sue you for the money though.
no
Retroactive up to 18 years. see link
yes you can get sued for back child support. If the child is yours, you need to take responsibility until the child is 18.
NOT if you owe back support. It doesn't matter how old the child is or whether or not she has children IF you owe back support you MUST pay it
While there is no statue of limitation for collecting court ordered unpaid back child support, there is for unordered support...the age of 21 of the dependent child. The child at the age of 18 may sue the noncustodial parent for unpaid support that was not ordered by the courts. This has been done at least twice.
