Yes, if it will work and if we can rely on it.

Carbon sequestration means capturing carbon dioxide from industries that emit this powerful greenhouse gas. The main industries would be electricity power stations. If their carbon dioxide is all captured, compressed and pumped underground into old oil wells, or natural gas wells, where it will be sealed and secure, then that will stop all that greenhouse gas going into the atmosphere.

There is nowhere in the world that this is working on a commercial scale. Governments are spending vast sums on it in the hope that they can keep using their coal. The outlook is not very promising.

Deforestation, cutting down forests, does notreduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, it increasesthem.

Afforestation, the planting of forests, reducesthe levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, slowing global warming.

No, it's not.

Carbon sequestration means taking carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it safely in a reservoir. Afforestation, planting new forests, is a way of carbon sequestration, locking CO2 away inside the trees for ever.

Deforestation means cutting down forests. NOT a way to lock away CO2.

it moves carbon in the carbon cycle because trees take in carbon and as that tree move that carbon also moves

Does nonpolluting energy reduce global warming?

No, it just prevents an increase. Reduction of global warming has to be done through carbon sequestration, natural or man-made.

How do plants increase global warming?

Plants don't increase global warming. In fact, they do the opposite.Plants, trees and all vegetation reduce the effect of global warming by removing from the atmosphere these gases like carbon dioxide and storing the carbon in their trunks and branches. They help to reduce global warming.

Are plants reducing global warming?

Plants reduce carbon dioxide, because they absorb carbon and release oxygen. Yes, they help reduce global warming, because excess carbon dioxide emissions increase the green house effect and global warming. Plants in total consume a small percentage of the carbon dioxide, a known minor contributor to global warming. The bottom line is that plants are a small carbon sink.

Plants can reduce global warming because photosynthesis requires .?

carbon dioxide

Does the use of geothermal energy reduce global warming?

Yes, it can. Geothermal Energy will reduce man's dependence on Fossil Fuels, which create carbon dioxide, indirectly reducing global warming.

Which activities will not reduce global warming?

Driving a large car, indeed any car, will not reduce global warming, unless it's powered by renewable electricity.Leaving your computer running all night will not reduce global warming.Building a coal-fired power plant with no way of capturing carbon dioxide emissions will not reduce global warming.

What has to reduce to solve the problem of global warming?

We have to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and methane, the greenhouse gases, into the atmosphere.

What steps are people taking to reduce their carbon footprints and global warming?

by burning fossil fuels

How does global warming cause volcanoes?

Global warming has no effect on volcanoes. It's the other way round. Volcanoes can increase global warming slightly if the emit carbon dioxide. And they can reduce global warming for a while if their dust and ash block out and reflect the sun's rays.

Does global warming have an effect on volcanos?

No, Global warming has no effect on volcanoes. It's the other way round. Volcanoes can increase global warming slightly if the emit carbon dioxide. And they can reduce global warming for a while if their dust and ash block out and reflect the sun's rays.

How do you reduce global warming with trees?

Trees take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere using photosynthesis as they are growing. This carbon is stored in the roots and branches of the trees. Because carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, by removing it from the atmosphere we are slowing global warming. So the answer to global warming is to plant billions of trees all over the world.

Does global warming take part in volcanoes?

No, global warming takes no part in volcanoes. It's the other way round. Volcanoes can increase global warming slightly if the emit carbon dioxide. And they can reduce global warming for a while if their dust and ash block out and reflect the sun's rays.
