Porcelain is actually used in too general a way to simply say yes. Actually, thinner, decorative porcelain can't go in the oven. Only stoneware or porcelain specifically made for the purpose can. The best advice is to look at the label or for a stamp on the underside.

Can you put porcelain in a preheated oven?

No! Porcelain is a clay mixture fired in a kiln that is commonly called "china" because the mixture/process was first invented in that country. It is delicate and contains metallic elements that will heat up quickly and break the porcelain when in contact with heat. Also, porcelain china should not be used in a microwave because of the metal elements.

What is the best way to go about cleaning porcelain sinks?

What is the best way to go about cleaning porcelain sinks? I want to get my sinks sparkling clean without damaging them.

Not sure of what type of ceramic material it is but you use it to make trinkets out of it is white clay that is also tan colored until it is baked so how long would you bake it in the oven for that's?

If I understand your question it sounds as if you have a clay and want to make something. It doesn't go into a normal oven, but a kiln. The temp in the kiln are much higher than what a kitchen oven can produce. The high heat turns the clay into a porcelain .
