Yes, extinct volcanoes are volcanoes that are cut off from their supply of lava. Some volcanoes look extinct but it might just be a long time since they've erupted. Many volcanoes may remain dormant for hundreds to thousands of years.

No. If a volcano erupts then it is not extinct; during its period of inactivity it would have been dormant.

To add to this.

Two examples are the long-dormant Soufrière Hills volcano on the island of Montserrat, thought to be extinct before activity resumed in 1995 and Fourpeaked Mountain in Alaska, which, before its September 2006 eruption, had not erupted since before 8000 BC and had long been thought to be extinct.

I am sure the odds are the same as winning the lottery every year for life.

Yes. There are three ways to describe a volcano's activity; there can be active, dormant, or extinct volcanoes. Active volcanoes have erupted recently. Dormant volcanoes aren't erupting right now, but vulcanologist's expect they could erupt at any time. Extinct volcanoes haven't erupted for tens of thousands of years, and aren't expected to erupt again. Gsophia, do you know dormant means inactive?

An extinct volcano is a volcano which has not erupted for so long a time that it is generally accepted that it will not erupt ever again. So, although they almost never do, and the answer you're looking for is no, it is possibly (though reallyunlikely) that an extinct volcano may erupt.

Does Venus' have any active volcanos?

Venus currently has some active volcanoes with lava flows, but the vast majority are inactive, dormant, or extinct. Venus does not have plate movement, which causes volcanoes on Earth. The driving force is likely heat rising from hot spots in the lower crust or upper mantle, as is seen in some volcanic seamounts on Earth.
