Can fire be extinguished by fire?

Answer:
Yes it can.

Contrary to popular belief and the quote "You can't fight fire with fire", you CAN fight fire with fire.

however, it is a very risky strategy that SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF POSSIBLE

Only use fire against fire in LIFE OR DEATH SITUATIONS.

Create a fire at a good distance away from you and the fire you are using it against.

The fire you created can suck out nearby oxygen and flammable material (ex: dry grass), thus preventing the other fire from growing. Both fires then eventually take each other's resources to burn, thus eventually dying out (as if you poured CO2 on it)

Never use this strategy if there is wind

When you use this, the wind may blow the fire you created right back at you or the fires may combine to form an even bigger one
