They are planning to kill THOUSANDS of Canada Geese in New York CITY!! They are going to do this during moulting season when they can't fly. They will trap and kill them. Supposedly, this will keep all plane/bird accidents from ever happening again!! It's supposed to start in a week (from now 6/15/09)

Canadian geese migrate in abundance during the fall season. They have a familiar "voice" which i always tune into, and i never cease to gaze up in amazement, as they soar above in "V" formation.
This very night i went out on my porch. The hour was half past midnight. I heard that distinct trumpeting sound very distant.... i knew they would soon be flying overhead!
I guess they just fly whenever the heck they feel like it...?
Must be nice to soar above a full moon, and go where the weather is best.
God's creatures are survivalists, and Canadian geese are no exception.
Man and all his technology knows NOTHING about air traffic control!!
praise GOD.....
Yes. Geese fly south for the winter. They fly with other geese in the shape of a V.

No definitely not. They would only "fly" when they are exported live overseas by airplane.
Because of the way a gooses feathers are structured (they don't have soft edges like owls), it's basically impossible for them to fly silently, no matter what time of day it is.
The geese fly in a V formation because they can flow off of each others air waves. It helps them be able to fly longer and farther before needing to rest. The goose in the front trades places with one of the back birds every once in a while.
Yes, there is less moisture in the higher air, making it easier to fly.
Pretty well all species of ducks and geese (like Mallards, canvasbacks, pintails, eiders, grebes, Canada geese, snow geese, etc.) migrate south in the fall and fly north in the spring.
Canadian geese are herbivores. This means that Canadian geese do not eat any type of meat. They only eat plants.
It is too cold where they are so they fly south for the winter where it is warm.
Migrating Canada Geese fly in a loose V formation.
Yes, *Geese Do Fly.
How do geese know where to fly

a flock of geese would fly in the troposphere. it would be too hot to fly in the stratosphere.

baby geese can fly when they get older and starts trying and well sometimes their mother teaches them to fly when they get a little older
Geese fly well, high, and for long distances.

Of Course! Whenever geese find it right to fly south, they must. Although not regular, they can choose to do it whenever.
