Theoretically, yes, but be careful. I put a 6cm commit with my eastern long necked tortoise but my tortoise just followed it around for hours fascinated with it and attempting to eat it. Even though i have many small (2-4 cm) fish in the tank for her to eat.
The goldfish release alot of ammonia and may actually poison your turtle
I have a pond 250 gal, i keep 14 goldfish and feeders in the pond, also i have a redear slider that i place in the pond with the goldfish everyday during summer months. I have no problem with the fish and turtle together, since the turtle spend most of the time basking they dont spend a whole lot of time together, but make sure the turtle is fed before placing him in the pond or he will go after the fish. otherwise they are fine together. about the amonia ? i dont have that problem cause i change 20 to 40 % of the water once or twice a week depending the water quality.
Goldfish and snails can live together for sure! You just have to have a good filter, since the snails are really dirty. I still prefer to take care of the water snails and the goldfish seperately, and actually do currently. I bought two water snails a few weeks ago and put them in with my goldfish, and found several discoveries:
1. They are REALLY dirty and leave this weird brownish chemical waste that smells really bad all over the place.
2. They leave slime over the fish food on the ground, and the fish don't dare to approach it.
3. When i wash the aquarium walls, it is very slimey.
I decided to move the snails to a separate little tank with a little filter of its own, because they were really dirty. They eat a lot more than you think they will! So though you can leave snails and goldfish together, I prefer to take care of them seperately, if that worth it to you.
Goldfish and tropical fish can definitely NOT LIVE TOGETHER! It is a HUGE mistake to put goldfish with tropical fish.
1. The temperature! Tropical fish live in higher temperatures than goldfish, and you don't want your poor coldwater goldfish to boil!
2. I have heard that...hmmm....I forgot what the tropical fish was called, but you know those fishes that suck on the ground? Algae eaters? The cute, black, suckerfish-like-guys? Well, apparently a big suckerfish accidentally sucked a goldfish up in its "sucking mouth", but the goldfish was big so it got STUCK IN THE GUY'S MOUTH! A customer brought the poor suckerfish guy witht he goldfish stuck in his mouth to the petstore.
3. Sometimes the fish may fight against eachother, especially fish that live in different regions and are NOT supposed to live with each other....
So putting goldfish with tropical fish is an extremely dangerous thing to do! I suggest you do NOT do that.
If you want them to live then i would suggest that you get big fish so that the turtle doesn't harm them because they will eat your fish.
no goldfish are small and turtles will eat them separate them
Turtles are very peaceful. The Goldfish would have to swim into the turtles mouth for anything to happen.
Although I've seen it done before, I wouldn't recommend it because many turtles will enjoy eating the goldfish.
No. Turtles will poo and piddle in the water making it poisonous for fish. Turtles should be kept in a vivarium where there is facility/place for them to get out of the water if they wish to.
No. Goldfish are freshwater fish and tropical starfish are saltwater fish.
Goldfish are not a tropical fish. In addition, they are egg bearing rather than live birth.
A guppie is a tropical fish and should be kept in an aquarium with other tropical fish, a goldfish is kept in a bowl or tank in cold water - the 2 cannot be kept together because of the different in the temperature of the water
None, goldfish are cold water fish, so having a tropical fish as a tank-mate just wouldn't work because tropical fish need to live in warm water.
It is not recommended. Goldfish are cold water fish while tropical fish are warm water fish. Also, goldfish need to be fed more often than most tropical fish and they produce elevated amounts of waste which can be detrimental to fish not accustomed to it.
Angel fish are semi aggressive fish. They may have a tendancy to pick on the gold fish. Also, angelfish need tropical warm water to survive. Gold fish like cold water. I would not put them together. If the Angel is big enough it will eat your goldfish.
it depens on what type of gold fish u have ( ordinary or fancy ) The simple answer is no. You can not keep tropical fish and coldwater fish (goldfish) successfully for long. Amongst other things, Goldfish run out of oxygen and tend to stress when kept too hot for too long. The metabolism of Tropicals slows down when the water is too cool and their organs simply shut down and the fish die.Tropical fish and goldfish prefer different temperatures; goldfish like to be at around 70F (room temp), whereas tropicals need more in the 78-84F range, and so putting them together can be problematic in that either the goldfish or the tropicals will be outside their normal temperature range, which can lead to stress and disease.
A beta fish lives happily in a bowl. Never, ever put a goldfish in a goldfish bowl (ironic, I know) because it's too small for them to live in.
Well fish such as goldfish go in cold water and fish such as angel fish (tropical) go in warm water. Try not to mix them up as one fish may not live. If you would like to get goldfish don't mix them with fantail fish with 2 split tails as the goldfish will attack. So keep fantails with their own kind. Hope I helped.
The best thing to do is ask the shopkeeper in the fish shop and find out first but goldfish go together with no problems if you are lucky because some goldfish can't live together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldfish
no goldfish and tropical fish cannot live together. gold fish are cold water fish and tropical fish are tropical fish. also only 2 goldfish can go in a 30 gallon, because goldfish make a lot of waste.
Yes. They are very social fish and prefer to live in groups rather than alone. If you're planning on getting a goldfish, please get at least two so that each one has a friend to swim around with!
