Can guinea pigs and hamsters share cages? |
[Edit] |
Answer;
Quite simple, no. I don't understand why'd you even think to do that... but, no, you definitely can't house a Guinea Pig and a Hamster together. And, you should never, ever keep a Rabbit and a Guinea Pig together, as, a Rabbit can kick a Guinea Pig, and either seriously hurt it, or, actually kill it. Also, the Rabbit can become overly protective of the Guinea Pig, and even you will have a hard time getting near either. :(
Answer
No. Only keep animals of the same species in a cage together or else they will fight. No matter how similar the animals may be, do NOT keep them in the same cage.
Answer
For anyone who is doubting that answer. I had a friend buy both and keep them in the same tank. Hamster are solitary animals and cannot be housed with ANY other species (including their own!). The hamster will KILL the guinea pig. Please do not put them together. Her poor guinea pig suffered a cruel death because she did so.
Answer
Nope! Sorry. They are very diffrent species (you have to research both if you want both!) You'd be surprised how diffrent they are. HOWEVER, Dwarf Rabbits can be housed with Guinea Pigs. The Rabbit kind of begins to think of the Guinesa Pig as a baby. It's kind of cute. =^^= the Rabbit will protect it. But be careful, don't let the Rabbit "own" the Guinea Pig too much!
Answer
This is DEFINATELY NOT a good idea. I had a friend who kept them together and they looked in and the guinea pig had decapitated the hamster. POOR little guy :( I hope you have luck if you have both animals :)
