Can hormone replacement therapy prevent weight loss? |
No, not for myself anyway...I was actually on a path of gaining more weight than I ever had in my life going into menopause then I started a very low dose of HRT as recommended by my OB/GYN. I was very apprehensive as I have read so many women's complaints on the internet regarding HRT and weight gain, the last thing I wanted to do is put on MORE weight; however my OB/GYN indicated that it was most definitely a myth about HRT and weight gain and that I may experience weight loss as the HRT was replacing the hormones that I was lacking and therefore I was actually putting on weight. Well, low and behold, my OB/GYN was correct, I am actually starting to loose.
