No reason not to. You will be given instructions for preparation for your colonoscopy, including fasting (not eating) using a laxative to clean out your intestinal system, and drinking a LOT of Gatorade and apple juice. You need to follow those instructions exactly, or the staff will not be able to do your procedure. You ARE going to spend a lot of time sitting in the bathroom during your prep. Take along a couple of books, and a pack of baby wet wipes. Really.

∙ 7y agoNo, you will be NPO overnight-- nothing by mouth. No milk, no juice, no eggs, no toast, no cereal, e.g. no breakfast. Many doctors will let you take important morning meds but only with a sip of water.
The bowel needs to be at rest. If you eat, it will cause peristalsis, and it can cause nausea and vomiting from the med you'll be given before the colonoscopy.
