Yes. It's possible to use fabric paint on paper but that will take a lot of time. But there are a few good quality fabric paints available in the market which dries quickly on paper, you can use them on paper without much trouble.

∙ 16y agoYes it can. You can use it to paint paper or cardboard or walls or sheetrock material. All have layers of paper that you paint on. If you are going to paint over wallpaper, you must fill in the seams with sheetrock mud and blocksand smooth or they will show on the final coat.

∙ 13y agoNo, that does not work. There are products called "latex stain" but they are really just latex paint. Stain is an oil base product that soaks into the wood, then you wipe off the excess. Latex paint forms a layer of rubber on the wood, which is like a very thin sheet of rubber with a little stik-um on the back. I think the real question is, what kind of finish are you looking for ? ∙ 11y agoYes, latex paint adheres very well to fabric. The down side is that it makes the fabric stiff in the area it was applied.
If you want the latex paint to stay and be pliable, you can use a "fabric medium" available at most craft stores.

∙ 11y agoIt can be done if you use an oil based primer like Kilz in between. ( I may have a 'bee in the bonnet' about primer, but I use it in almost everything I paint.) It works well and holds all paints. - Worth it for a couple of hours extra work !
