Best Answer

yes lupus can cause thrush.

Lupus itself does not cause thrush, however, most lupus patients take immunosuppressive medications which make us more susceptible to all kinds of infections and also make them harder to fight.

Yes but not directly. It's more of an indirect potential side effect.

Any wounds or skin ulcers caused as a side effect by lupus create areas at risk of yeast infection.

Basically candida (yeast) is present on and in the body already. Any area of the body that can breed fungus can turn into a yeast infection.

Lupus and its many side effects may create areas of the body that need extra cleaning (skin lesions, open sores, rash spots, skin ulcers, etc) any of these that are not kept clean will be left at additional risk of yeast infection.
