Yes it can be used. My husband just got of the Marine Corps, and because of his BAH he was paying 950.00 a month in child support.
Yes the state can use BAH (a military term for "Basic Allowance for Housing) to calculate child support since it is a part of your gross income. This is standard.
Child support that all military members pay is called Aid to Dependent Children. Military Pay Command has schedules for this. It is extremely difficult to collect more than is already scheduled by military pay alowances. Actually, it is nearly impossible.
An airbase is a military airport, which provides housing and support for aircraft and personnel.
Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is typically provided to active duty servicemembers to cover the costs of housing when they are not provided with government-provided housing. BAH is typically authorized regardless of the type of active duty orders, including Operational Support orders. However, specific eligibility and rates may vary based on factors such as location and dependents. It is recommended to consult with your military finance office for more specific information pertaining to your individual circumstances.
Child support is the non-custodial parent's portion of the expenses of the child, including housing, food, clothing and so on. It is up to the custodial parent whether an "allowance" can be paid to the child from the child support amount.
