∙ 12y agoThe difference between the bid price and the offer price is called the spread. So in spread betting, you have 2 choices. If you think the stock is going to go up, you buy it at the offer price (higher). If you believe the stock is going to go down, you start your bet at the bid price. You wager an amount of money, then you stand to gain or lose that much money for each point the stock goes up or down. It's very risky.
