The best solution is those little packets of floral food that are in the bouquets at the grocery. Ask the florist there for a couple of extras. But in a pinch, mix a teaspoon of sugar into a pint of lukewarm water and let it cool before using for flowers. The best thing to do is to change the water every three days and clip the stems about an inch each time you change the water.
