Can my flat screen tv screen be repaired?

A digital camera can still work even if the monitor (lcd/tft) is broken, but in that case you would always have to connect it to a laptop or PC to be able to see what you have stored on the memmory card. a second question could be" is it whise to let the monitor be replaced by a new one?

In most cases the answer is No simply because digital cameras have become cheaper. Nowadays it is possible to spend very little money (in Europe about 70 - 150 euro) and have a new camera with much more possibilities as the old one.

The lcd can be fixed (replaced by a new one) but most of the time it simply costs more than buying a new camera"it can only be wirth the costs if you have a very special camera (read very expensive and lots of possiblilites) or if you have a emotional binding with the camera.

The answer is yes, but without more information, it's difficult to tell how hard it'll be to do. It can also be quite expensive (usually around the original cost of the TV for a new replacement screen). If you have a LCD projector set, that too can be quite expensive unless you're able to obtain a rebuilt unit somewhere. That too can be major surgery, depending on the make and model.

All of the laptop lcds are replaceable, the tough part is that you will have to replace the screen yourself. The Laptop Screen site has illustrated instructions. Be armed with a small Philips screwdriver and a small knife before you jump in :D

But if the cost is more than the value of the camera, and if you wish to attempt to repair it yourself, there are several things you can do and there are places you can buy just the LCD screen or have them do the repair for you.

It depends. Is it cloudy just because it is? A Photography shop may be able to help you. It might also be just because the camera isn't of good quality. However if it's cloudy because it is dirty, it obviously needs to be cleaned. Some cameras can handle soap and water, some can't. Make sure you know what is best for your camera. Most camera's instruction booklets will tell you how to clean it properly. Still unsure? Run over to a photography shop. They will be happy to assist you. Or any electronic stores can most likely give you the answers too.
