If you're 18, and you're either a citizen or permanent alien resident of the United States, you're required to enroll in the Selective Service Act. If a draft is reinstated, there is a possibility of you being drafted at that point.

∙ 11y agoEVERY male US citizen AND male permanent resident is subject to the draft. However, there hasn't been a draft since the Vietnam War, and most politicians would be hesitant to enact one now - it would be career suicide for them.

∙ 12y agoEvery 18 year old male is automatically submitted to army recruiting, but you will only be drafted incase of a national emergency. It has happened a lot in the past but is now VERY uncommon.
