Can the mother of a pregnant 16-year-old place a restraining order against her 25-year-old boyfriend if the state's statutory rape laws do not apply? |

Answer
Your parents can have your boy friend arrested and jailed for statutory rape of a minor just because of the age. That is statutory rape in many states whether sex was consensual or not. Consider yourself and your sick boyfriend very lucky. 25 vs. 16 he should be jailed for life!! And what is your problem that you can't find someone your own age or at least close to it?
More Input
All states have age of consent laws which relate to the age at which a minor may enter into consensal sex, without the older participant being charged with a criminal offense. Statutory rape would not apply if the minor is of the AOC, but there are many other laws which would, such as sexual misconduct, corrupting the morals of a minor, etc.
Given the circumstances a restraining order could likely be granted. Some deciding factors in a RO being issued would be if the minor's parents have proof the relationship on any level, began when their daughter was younger, the relationship has created an unacceptable family environment, or the adult male has demonstrated hostility or acts of intimidation towards the female minor and or her family, and many other such issues.
