If your situation involves sexual or physical abuse, PLEASE PROSECUTE. If only psychological abuse is involved, PLEASE find others for support. Find Any trusted adults that see your situation for what it really is, and try to put an end to the abuse with their help and support. Enlist the help of abused minors if necessary. From personal experience, the answer is no. Abusers don't hit their wives and girlfriends because they are depressed, it's from a much deeper psychological problem that requires a good healthy amount of therapy.
