Can viruses be transferred if you are sharing a broadband connection using a wireless hub?

[Edit]

Viruses can be transferred anywhere a computer user can access. In reality, no matter what is done one can not be 100% safe when connected to another source. Safety can be achieved in isolation. Viruses are simply computer programs so all that has to happen for it to spread is for it to be downloaded and run on another computer. And the user doesn't even have to run the file. Viruses use tricks in order to run themselves without the user's knowledge.
