Check with your local Marine Corps recruiter. According to their web site, they will accept a GED. Make sure it is from an accredited institutiion
If you have a GED with no college credits you will not be able to join because you would be considered a tier II and there are plenty of tier I recruits, so getting accepted is highly unlikely. You will need 15 college credits to be considered a tier I, and then depending on your asvab score you should have no problem.
Yes, but it is rare for that waiver to be granted. A GED backed up by a dozen or more college credits even from a community college might be accepted if they were all solid academic subjects accompanied by outstanding grades. What the Corps doesn't want is a quitter. They want people that have the right stuff to become a Marine and become good citizens. They acknowledge that a very small percentage will fail in recruit training. Most of those will be because of an undiscovered health condition. They want people with a positive attitude, leadership potential and the ability to go for broke. If you don't want it bad enough, you will surely fail. The faint of heart have no place among this brotherhood.
You should direct this question to your local Marine Corps recruiter; I'm not 100% certain what you mean, but if you're asking if they can help you locate a GED program so that you can join the Marines (the US Armed Forces generally do not accept anyone without a high school diploma or GED), then they should at least be able to give you a referral to a program that they consider acceptable.
you need a high school diploma
No, you cannot join the Marine Corps without a high school diploma or equivalent. A General Educational Development (GED) credential is considered equivalent to a high school diploma, so it would meet the requirements for enlistment. However, without a GED or high school diploma, you would not be eligible to join.
You should have a high school diploma.
If you can test for and get your GED, you could. As a 9th grader without a GED or Diploma, no. NO branch of the military will accept anyone who doesn't have at the minimum a GED.
High School or GED. Either is acceptable.
There is no college requirement to enlist into the Marine Corps. You do need a High School Diploma or GED though. If you wish to join as an officer, you can either go to Annapolis or go to college and then go to Officer School.
High School diploma or GED, and the ability to pass the ASVAB
The Marine Corps will require a High School Diploma. The GED may be a possibility; however you should contact the nearest Marine Corps Recruiting Office for detailed information. The Marine Corps at this time (2009) will only allow about 5% of the recruiting mission to be GEDs, and the rest require a high school diploma. With enough college credits you do not need a high school diploma and will be counted as a high school graduate. I'm not sure how many credits are needed, though.
Yes.
Yes, but it requires a waiver.
You can legally join, but you need permission from your parent or guardian.
As of right now they are not accepting GED's, you must have a diploma or a GED with 15 college credits. That is considered a diploma.
Marine capital "M". And you don't. If you don't have a HS diploma or GED w/ college cred then your best bet is to finish HS and get your diploma. Semper Fi Devil Pup!
