oooh, I'd say no! It's the same with magazines too for some people!

Unless they've offered it to you to read, I wouldn't do it - Especially if you've bought it for them as a present and haven't given it to them, it'd look like you got it from a charity shop.

Books are wonderful, and so is opening it for the first time and pawing over the brand newness..which you can't do if some blurry g*t has been there first! ..I know I'd be extremely vexed, but then I don't share food off my plate either so I'm clearly biased.
