No, you cannot amplify gravity. It is a function of mass, and a certain mass exerts a certain gravity at a certain distance from the center of mass. To increase gravity, you need to increase the mass or shorten the distance.
(Note that should you move "within" the mass, you create an entirely different circumstance.)
