Can you call on the iPod touch?

No, you cannot call on the iPod Touch. The recent iPod Touch that came out in September 2010 can call people that have FaceTime such as iPhone costumers. But unless you have the new iPod Touch that has a camera and FaceTime, you cannot call other people.

This can be done by using the Skype App downloaded from the App Store and using a third party mic. However you cannot call mobiles or landlines, only other Skype users.

However this is not possible with iPod touch 1st generations. Only the 2nd & 3rd generation iPod touch supports third party mics.

The thing is, an iPod Touch is different than a iPhone in only one way, you are unable to call people in the traditional phone sense. However, there is an app called Facetime for fourth-generation iPods (you need a camera) to video chat with someone. Other than that, no, you can't call people on an iPod Touch.

truphone... truphone has to be used with wi fi or it wont work but if you dont have wi fi you can get truphone anywhere which lets you call people without having to use wi fi

if you have earphones that have the microphone (usually 32 gb or 64 gb ones do) you talk into the microphone and then you hear the person through where you hear the music from i think
