Most routers will allow this change once you log into them. There should be firewall/security settings that allow you to configure the router to your liking. Just find out how to log into your router (most use a web browser. MANY routers can be found at http://192.168.1.1 on your network.

It would involve logging into your router using its specific IP address, going to the Wireless security section and changing the encryption method. However, it is not recommend to switch to WEP as it is very insecure and can be easily hacked into. The only reason I can see you would want to is to use some device that doesn't support WPA.

∙ 14y agoif you had specified your router's brand and model i could have helped you in a straight manner.Once you have the model go to its website and look for manuals (pdf file). Normally you should access the configuration by openint your browser (i.e. internet explorer) and input 192.168.1.1 (sometimes 192.168.0.1) into the address field, it'll ask you for user and password, try "admin" for both or "admin" as user and "password" as password.
