Can you convert a 1982 El Camino front end with two head lights into a 1981 frontend with only one head light without too much wiring difficulty?
Open the hood and look at the side of the headlamp mounting assembly under the hood. On the side is a hooked lever (a finger fits in the curved part). Rotate the lever to release the headlamp assembly and pull it out the front of the fender. Replace the bulb from the back of the assembly. You might have to pull hard, as it has conductive grease on it to help hold it in place. After the build is replaced, push assembly back into fender and rotate lever the oppostie way to lock the assembly back in place.
What do you do if only one head light works on a 1997 Ford Explorer and you already replaced the bulb?
I had same problem. I replaced the connector and wire tail as there was a crack in the connector where the bulb connects to the wires. Before you replace this try to clean the contacts for the bulb. I suggest buying this part from a salvage (if you have to)in case this does not fix the problem, most places will not take electrical parts back. Good luck! By the way, Mine was the passenger side which I was told is common in that year. Answer the connector idea is great. you can be sure of the bulb by switching it with the one that works. Answer Check the interior fuse panel. Some vehicles use a separate fuse for each headlight.
Headlight wiring diagrams for a 1997 Chevy 1500 is found onlinethrough service repair manuals. These manuals depict how to repairthe truck as well as offer correct troubleshoot information for thevehicle.
Answer . \nright behind the headlight you reach in and twist the light out its a tight squeese but it can be done. be sure when you put the new light in not to touch the light its self.put the light back in, in the opposite direction it was removed
Answer . The 1696 Ford Escape Headlamp bulbs are accessable through a panel under the hood. It has a wire holding it closed, just push down, and it should move. The instructions in the manual are accurate for the Low Beam, unplug it by squeezing the tab, and pulling down. The High beam instructions are WRONG. This one unplugs, and you have to turn it. You use the base like a key, and it should turn counterclockwise. I don't know how to change the turn signal bulb, I am still looking. THIS ANSWER HAS BEEN 'CUCED'!
Find the sine of the angle from the toe required per side/wheel (inches) divided by the diameter of the wheel rim (inches). For example 1/16th inch total "toe-in" which is 1/32" per side = 0.03125". Assuming a rim diameter of 15". Toe angle per side is sine of 0.003125/15 = 0.002083 equivalent to 0.119366 degrees which is also 7.16 minutes.. Total toe-in is double the per side toe-in, in this case 14.32 minutes.. Ray
Do you have to change engine harness and front light harness when installing a super sport dash in a Malibu el camino 1971 or is there can change some wires?
Although it was a long time ago, we took the dash from a '70 Monte Carlo and just installed it in my '70 Elc. The Monte wiring harness just pluged right in.
I found out you have to take it to the dealership because the bumper (among other things) must be removed. They said that the passenger side is especially difficult to replace. Although the bulb costs under $10, it will cost around $200 for labor (if not still under warranty.) Well you can do it. I like to save money and I was able to do it myself. Yes, I had to take the front bumper off. There is a hidden screw under both front tires. You have to take the black cover off over the wheel to find it. Well, not completely. I am only going into details that are hard to find. The rest is pretty easy. You see a bolt, remove it. But I will go into the ones you can't find. Take the tip of the screwdriver bit and just by using your two fingers move it left then right until the screw pops out. Then just use your fingers and pull on it going front and back and it will pop out and you won't break it. Start from the bottom and remove four of them. That should be enough to pry it back to look under it and you will see one hidden screw same on the other side. Pry it out before looking or dirt will go in your eyes. The rest is simply easy by looking and finding bolts and removing them. Once you removed the bumper and the bolts, remove the headlight by pulling it straight out. Then unclip the wiring harness and now you can take the headlight with you and sit down. Look at the back of it, you will see an arrow to tell you which way to turn to take the cover off. It comes right off no problems. Now pull the plug off the light, then pay attention to the wire that is holding the bulbs on. Unhook it and take it out. Put the new one back on, then put it back the same way. If you're going to replace the parking light, it's the square black cover. Just pop it off and it's the small one. Just pull straight out, it should come right out. The manual said turn then pull but I didn't. Another Answer: You can replace a Mazda 6 headlight without taking the bumper off. There are back caps behind the headlight unit that come off with a 1/4 turn for the low beams and a cap that snaps off for the others. Under the caps is the bulb. There is a spring locking clip that holds the bulb in place. Undo the spring latch and pull the bulb out. This is not too easy to do the first time, it is very hard to see what is going on behind the headlights and the space is extremely small. The process is simple once you understand how it is done. There are much more detailed instructions (with pictures!) if you search for them. To make is easier to replace the bulbs, you need to remove the air filter compartment for the right bulb. This makes it easier to access the bulb. For the left, disconnect the coolant reservoir tube (EASY), pull it off. There is a cap on both headlights (pop them off). Reach in with two fingers and twist bulb and it should come right out. The high beams have a metal clip that holds them in place. It might be the same for the low beam depending on the year. I have a 2006 Mazda 6s Hatch. I just replaced the bulbs and it took about 20 minutes total. The clips are somewhat difficult to handle because there's not a lot of room but you'll get it.
Scraping by . \nMy favorite tool is a wallpaper scraper, the kind with a removable 3 inch razor blade. It is wide enough not to dig in and you can find one with a 12 inch handle for comfort. Just scraping away with a razor blade gets tough on the hands.
I would shine that nickel up very carefully and check the edge fora thin line of a slightly different color where two differentnickles have been ground down and soldered back together. Not surewhat you have but it is probably fake. I've seen the solderingthing done with pennies before.
hi.. I have a geo metro 1.0 1995 my engine computer is: 3392050G20 FED M.T (manual trans). annyway u can check out in www.autoecmecu.com/geo.. victor.
What are the two red knobs on a 85 supra in front of the radiator by each head under hood light up front that has a sign on them?
they are your manual controls for your headlamp doors one direction they will open the other direction they will close,.
Answer . by turning the little torx head looking screw. there are two "torx head screws" for adjusting. one for the horizontal on the side of the headlight assembley and one on the top for the vertical adjustment.
Answer . Check the bulbs- double filamented smaller for stop lights Check fuses Check the operation and adjustment of the stop light switch
Info can be found in your "Owners Manual" under Electrical System - Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 6-61...
To change the front head light you need to unscrew the screws toremove the protective casing. Once the protective casing has beenremoved the front head light bulb can be replaced with a new one.
Bulb problem - The bulb actually has 2 filaments in it and one of the filaments has burned out, replace bulb problem fixed.
The choke light on a 1980 El Camino indicates that there is aproblem with the electric choke on the carburetor. Causes rangefrom loose wires to a defective choke.
If you get light headed, you should sit down to avoid injuries fromfalls. If this happens frequently, you should seek the advice of aphysician to determine the cause. They may be able to recommend asimple solution, or it may be the sign of something serious.
You could be lossing alot of blood or have seen something you dont want to say and if you get to light headed you could pass out
The headlight switch could be defective. Check all the fuses first and if any are bad, replace them. The dimmer switch could also be defective.
On many autos today it is simple. Raise the hood, you should be able to see the rear of the headlight. It may have a bulb holder which pulls or pops out, wires will lead to this unit. If so remove the bulb holding unit the one can simply unplug the old bulb and replace with a new one and plug the holder back like it was. But before I let a mechanic charge me an arm and a leg, Auto zone has manuels for around eighteen bucks that tell and show you how to do all sorts of things.
how do i find a short in my head lights ,tail lights work but not my head lights
In short, the timing fuel flow, spark gap etc. You don't want to play with it as they are easy to destroy and hard to program.
How can you convert the low voltage wiring of a lighted house number sign usually found in front of the garage to wiring for a regular light fixture?
Without seeing the actual installation, there are too many variables, so here's my best answer:. --------------------------. The wiring would have to meet the following rules:. 1) It has to be installed as specified in Article 300 (Wiring Methods) of the National Electrical Code. . 2) It has to be in accordance with Article 310, Conductors for General Wiring. . And:. 3) The new fixture needs to be installed in accordance with Article 410. . If it is a low-voltage sign, it may or may not have been installed to meet article 300, and it is likely not in accordance with article 310 as it would apply to wiring used at 120 volts. . The reason for this is that low voltage lighting requirements are more lax than 'normal' lighting system requirements. Low voltage requirements are found in Article 411 of the NEC.
CAUTION*** . The halogen bulb contains gas under pressure. The bulb may shatter if the gas envelope is scratched or if the bulb is dropped. Handle the bulb carefully. Grasp the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass envelope. . è The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlamps with the bulb removed from the headlamp. . Headlights . Removal & Installation. 1. Raise and support the hood.. 2. Raise the headlamp retainers by pushing rearward and pulling up.. 3. If equipped, rotate the headlamp bulb protective counterclockwise and remove.. 4. Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connector.. 5. Remove the headlamp assembly.. 6. Rotate headlamp bulb retainer counterclockwise and remove.. 7. Remove the headlamp bulb by pulling it straight out with a gentle up-and-down rocking motion.. WARNING*** . Do not touch the glass bulb with your fingers. Oil from your fingers can severely shorten the life of the bulb. If necessary, wipe off any dirt or oil from the bulb with rubbing alcohol before completing installation. . To Install; . 8. Install a new bulb into the headlamp assembly.. 9. Install the headlamp bulb retainer and turn it clockwise to engage the retaining tabs.. 10. Attach the bulb electrical connector.. 11. If equipped, install the headlamp bulb protective cover.. 12. Install the headlamp assembly.. è Be sure the headlamp assembly is positioned correctly with the alignment pins inserted into the proper holes and onto the ribs of the reinforcement .. 13. Engage the retainers by gently pushing down.. 14. Turn the lights on and check the bulb operation.
It is on the left bottom side of engine towards the back, Kinda under the exhaust manifold. Hard to see.
assuming ist seal beam and not a bulb head light you just need to unscrew two screws on the alluminum or chrome beauty ring and the pull out your head light and un plug the light. Let's assume that the screw might be an torx type screw driver
Not positive of course without looking at the vehicle....however if it is full with oil...my next step would be to check the oil level/pressure sensor which should be found on the lower side of the engine block or on the oil pan itself....maybe melted wires...a faulty switch...something of that nature
I would suspect one of the door switches is at fault but also be sure the interior light switch is in the off position.
The choke light on a 1984 Chevy El Camino will come on if the chokefails to open or close. The choke should be visually inspected toverify functionality.
If it is the choke indicator Light, it means that you did not set the choke when you started the vehicle. If the vehicle has a choke idiot light turned on, then it can mean that there is a problem with the choke/carb or there is a problem in the oil system.
The high beam indicator light will be located on the right side of the instrument panel. It is in the same housing as the check engine, choke, brake, and seat belt indicator lights. The high beam indicator is the only blue one, making it easier to find.
no, headlight fish do not have a light on their head. But they are shaped like a headlight.
Yes but the fenders are slightly different in those years, so keep that in mind
There is an oversized or malfunctioning fuse in the fuse box. The fuse should blow before the wire is damaged.
Check the headlight fuse that's INSIDE the box. If an oversized fuse has been put in the fusebox you will have problems with the wire overheating whenever there is a problem in the circuit. There is a short circuit (wire touching chassis ground) somewhere in the lighting circuit, but the wire is burning because an oversized fuse has been put in the circuit.
The owners manual for your vehicle should have this information. Each make and model is potentially wired differently, so it's hard to say for sure when you haven't told us what kind of car it is.
well i think committing suicide but if you think that that is the best option then go to a mental hospital and you will be "helped" and please only take this advice if you consider your self a nice person if you consider your self bad then do the world a favor and then do it.Ok.
A simple bolt on swap is not possible. The 73 Caprice is a full size Chevrolet and the Elcamino is a midsized Chevrolet. If you pay a body shop to fabricate the work it would be very costly.
Light fixtures without a ground wire might be illegal in your area - check first. If the fixture has no ground wire, it is probably an antique or has been imported illegally, depending on where you live. The three wires in a typical house circuit (North American, 15amp) are the neutral wire (white insulation), hot or live wire (black insulation) and the ground wire (no insulation). The two wires attached to the light fixture should also be color-coded white and black, and there should also be an uninsulated copper wire usually attached to a green screw, which is the ground wire. Make sure the power source is disconnected by either removing the fuse at the main panel, or by shutting off the breaker to that circuit. Test the circuit to make sure it is not live. Attach the white wire to the white wire, the black to the black and the ground to the ground, and then make sure the two ground wires together are attached to the ground screw in the junction box (j-box) that holds the light fixture to the ceiling or wall. If there is no ground wire on the fixture, still attach the ground wire from the house wiring to the j-box. If the light fixture wires are not color-coded, the white wire (from the house wiring) attaches to the wire that attaches to the shell (threaded part) of the socket, and the black wire attaches to the fixture wire that goes to the center tap of the socket. This way, when you unscrew the light bulb you will not get a shock by touching the threads of the bulb, because the neutral (white) wire is attached to it, not the live wire (black).
what i was told to do was to masturbate the headlight. make sure it is clean before you use it. just sit somewhere where no one is and masturbate to it. my friend told me that this will help the light last longer and you wont have to change it. well it works. the lube that comes out of you makes it work up to a year longer. plus you get to have fun while you fix it. hope this helped. P.S. it feels sexy when you masturbate to a head light. feels better when you do it with someone. bye :)
Engine overheating, engine miss, loss of coolant with no apparent leak, white smoke from the exhaust, oil level overfull, oil has a grey or brown color, a white foamy substance on the underside of the oil fill cap, air bubbles escaping from the radiator with engine running cap off. Any or all of these symptoms indicate an blown head gasket.
The terminology for this type of installation in North America is called three way switching. Here is a simple diagram showing power to one switch, a 14/3 wire running to the second switch, and the light(s) being fed from the second switch. .........................*SWITCH1*..............................*SWITCH2* ....................... ........................... (brass) ------------red------------ (brass) ........................... (brass) ------------black---------- (brass) --black in------------(black).....................................(black)------------black to light-- --white in-----------[splice]------------white----------[splice]------------white to light-- (please ignore the ....'s, they are there to allow spacing in this text-only diagram) For the simplest installation, ALWAYS run the 3-wire cable directly between the switches. Keep it out of the light fixture! There are many, many, many variations possible, but this is simple, easy and nearly foolproof. Good luck, and hope this helps some.
Its going to vary by dealer. Take a look at your owner's manual and see if you can do it yourself...many Nissans are very easy. See sources and related links below for bulb information.
No vehicle model was given so an exact answer can't be presented. However, here is the general 2006 Mercedes-Benz headlight bulb lamp replacement procedure: Purchase the correct replacement headlight bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement bulb information. Then consult your owner's manual for the headlight bulb lamp replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).
I you wired a light bulb in to the same circuit you have the possibility of over loading the circuit but other than that it would just be brighter.
If the light fixture's third wire is a green one then it should be tied into the ground wire in the box. The bare ground wire in the box is at the back and should be looped around a green terminal screw. Tie the fixture's green ground wire to this point. Then it is just white to white and black to black.d
Most headlight bulbs can be repaired by the driver; a section of your owner's manual will detail the bulb-type and how to replace it. The head light covering itself requires partial dismantling of the front bumper and/or grill and requires the services of an auto mechanic shop.
The headlights and the tail lights may not be working on the 1981El Camino because of a mechanical breakdown.
