You can crochet a chain stitch with your fingers, but doing other stitches will be impossible unless your work is very very loose. It is technically possible to crochet with a knitting needle, but it's not really worth all the fiddling and frustration.

Yes! You can. It is actually easier to crochet without the hook, in my opinion. Just make a slip knot on your finger and pull the long string through the loop, and pull on the long string to make the loop smaller.

not for me! you weave the yarn through your finger when your using the hook, and you can't do that when the knots on your finger. plus the hook has to twist, but theres no hook on your finger. although one time i crocheted a whole scarf with my fingers.
