The marijuana itself will not cause death but when you drive under the influence it reduces your ability to react to things quickly, your ability to focus, and how much time you spend looking at distracting stimuli meaning that you are likely to get into an accident. Taking all that into account, yes you could die and it is very dangerous to drive under the influence.
