The Polk berries have toxins in them but if you look in Euel Gibbon's book "Stalking the Wild Asparagus" He makes a type of Lemonaid with the berries. Boiling them and then pouring the liquid through a tee shirt to make sure no seeds & outer casing of the berries get into the drink. But I would not eat them. You can eat the green thou.
