Can you file chapter 7 four years after a chapter 13 if have filed chapter 7 before?

Yes, but there is a requirement for the amount of time which needs to have passed between filings and the amount of time will vary depending on where you live.

Under the bankruptcy laws effective on October 17, 2005, Chapter 7 cannot be filed unless the debtor was discharged from the previous Chapter 7 or bankruptcy more than eight years ago.

The debtor cannot file a Chapter 13 unless: (1) the debtor received a discharge under Chapter 7, 11 or 12 more than four years ago; or (2) the debtor received a discharge under Chapter 13 more than two years ago.

What is chapter 1 about in ingo?  Can you file chapter 7 if you have filed chapter 7 before?  Do they ever make a finanacial hardship case on filing chapter 7 before 8 years?  If you give your home to a family member in one year and then file chapter 7 the next year is this legal?
