The answer to this question is yes. But the problem is when you freeze a banana you damage it too much, the cells will turn black and possibly loose form on melting. Bananas are usually quickly dried, cut in thin plates on warm air with lots of ventilation.
You just peel the banana and then wrap the inside with tin foil. I usually cut them in half and wrap both halves. It's great for throwing in the blender with strawberries and milk or almond milk for a smoothie.
(Addition) You can also use frozen bananas to make banana 'ice cream', freeze the bananas, and when frozen take them out, hack off the skin and put them in a blender/liquidizer/food processor until they go creamy add some lemon juice and it tastes and looks just like ice cream, you can't keep it for long though, so you have to eat it right away. yummy.
