Yes. Unemployment is to subsidize your hunt for new employment NOT subsidize your education.
Quitting a job does not qualify for unemployment.
On Quitting School was created in 1834.
One qualifies for unemployment ONLY while available to work AND actively seeking work. Folks in jail cannot work, so they are disqualified from unemployment benefits.
No
You can only 'legally' quit school at the age of 16. I recommend not quitting because jobs will be harder to get and you might not be as successful as others who finished school.
According to page 5 in the Related Link below, Kentucky may be one of a few states that say quitting for personal reasons and not connected to the job are ineligible or disqualified from obtaining benefits. Check with the state's employment security office for clarification.
no, because you are not a part of that school anymore
Anyone can file an appeal on a declined request. In your case it probably would do no good because unemployment compensation requires you lose your job through no fault of your own. Quitting to go to school is not a bonafide reason, and interference with class schedules is also not a good reason.
you can only collect unemployment if you were fired not if you quit. They will call your employer to verify.
This is a bit confusing. If you have been disqualified, you are not receiving an unemployment check. You may appeal the decision within thirty days (the sooner the better), but unless the decision is reversed, there will be no check. The appeal process can take four to six weeks as well, and it can take thirty days after a reversed disqualification to receive payment.
If you already receive unemployment benefits, you only need to notify the unemployment office about change of address. If you are quitting your job, through no fault of your employer, then it would be considered a voluntary quit and you would not be eligible for unemployment.
Generally you will be disqualified for the amount of time that you receive severance. For example, if your weekly benefits are $400 a week and you earned $1200 severance, then you will be disqualified for a month.
