Can you quit job while on workers comp?

In Canada yes. For example if you injury your back because you were doing heavy lifting and Workers Comp., sent you to a Chiropractor or physical therapy then after a few days to a few weeks and your doctor clears it then Workers Comp will make a deal with your employer to put you on light duty. This way the employer will pay half and Workers Comp will pay the other half until you are fully recovered.

What is workers compensation law?

Each state has its own WC laws, and each state is a little different. Basically the laws are that if you are injured in the course and scope of your work, Workers Compensation insurance will pay for your medical treatment costs (Doctor, drugs, transportation costs) If you are unable to work, after a waiting period (typically 7 days) Workers Comp will replace a PART of your wages you usually earned. It is not required that you file a lawsuit against anyone. You must report the injury to your supervisor at once, and file an Employers First Report of Injury. SOME occupational diseases are also covered by Workers Comp.

How long do you have to be off work to get Workman's Comp?

Workman's Compensation Insurance is governed by state law. Therefore it is not possible to give a definitive answer without knowing the state of residency. The information can be obtained by contacting the state's Labor Relations Board or the company's union representative if it applies. Please be advised that not all employers are required to participate in the WCI program.at my husbands job you only have to be off hurt for 3 days and then they can kick in and start filing for the work comp checks and they start that third day so if they have to back pay you then that is what they have to do...
