Freeview is the digital terrestrial television service for the UK and is replacing analog broadcasting. The changeover is being phased and will be complete by 2012.
Any UK television on sale should have a digital receiver incorporated now. Although there may be one or two exceptions, no reputable dealer will stock televisions that do not have a digital receiver.
The same should be the case worldwide wherever a digital conversion has happened or is happening.
But... There will be some very rare exceptions so make sure you ask the question before handing over cash to the salesman.
Yes, the control of this is found in video or tuning MENU, but the program has to have been made with this information embedded, all are not.

Yes.
Any television you buy new will come with a digital tuner. It's now required by the FCC.If you buy a second hand tv it probably won't have one,but if you have cable you're okay.
The signal sent to the TV must be a digital signal as well.
In the US the answer is probably not. Digital and analog TV broadcasts use the same frequencies and antennas. Digital TV is more fussy about signal quality than the older analog signals. So if you get marginal analog reception, figure on getting a new antenna for digital. The idea that there are special HDTV antennas is just marketing hype. Any antenna that gives you better digtial reception will also give you better digital reception.
Teletext's first broadcast in the United Kingdom was in 1993. Teletext provided teletext services to three separate television channels in the United Kingdom.

In the US it's called captioning and it is required that all sets with screens over a certain size have this feature built in. Go into your VIDEO MENU and look for CLOSED CAPTION or just CC. You have to be watching a program that has captioning on it.
Very probably yes. If your new TV is High Definition, you will need to get a new HD cable box from Comcast, for which the fee is a little higher.
