No. The minimum age requirement to become a Marine is 17 years of age, with a parent's or legal guardian's written conscent. Once an individual becomes 18, a parent's or legal guardian's permission is not required. There are other requirements, but this should answer your particular question.

You may join any branch of the military at 17 1/2 with a parent's signature and a highschool diploma/GED. However, You may not join the Marines, Navy, or Airforce without a highschool diploma or GED, but the Army offers a 4-10 week GED program you can join. Upon completion you receive a GED and are then sent to basic training.
