Can you modify your car so it will go faster?

Answer

Take out the governor with it it usaully stops at a safe speed for the engine to run at but without it the car will go faster and faster even though the needle is barried until boom, no more engine. Don't push your engine to far this way I'd recomend aftermarket parks and an rpm guage to monitor engine.

Answer

It may be that SUV's have a fuel system cut-off at about 97 mph. This is partially due to the fact that they often do not put speed rated tires on these vehicles.

Answer

Your truck's computer has a factory set rev-limiter. This is to keep repair costs down while the vehicle is under warranty. You can alter the setting w/ aftermarket re-programmers, but w/the low final drive gear ratios SUV's have, ya ain't gonna go much faster. Besides, SPEED KILLS!,and so do speeding tickets. "Faster" and "Furiouser" can get you dead bro'. I'd concentrate on low-end grunt off the line. That's what nitrous is perfect for. Imagine puttin yur 'hoe in 4-low and launching w/all 4 wheels while the rice grindin' tuner next to ya torches his tires while getting a good view of yur taillights!..."nuff preachin"... Keep it shiny side up:)>
