Receivers in the US can work in Canada but the service in Canada is provided by Bell. Legally you cannot use a receiver from the US in Canada or vice versa. Canadian programming is different than in the US.

Dish Network has a Canadian company called Dish Network Canada. You would have to subscribe to their services. Whether or not you could use old equipment would be a question only they could answer.
What format does Dish Network use for movies?
It depends on the movie and receiver. The formats are either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. Our HD receivers are in MPEG-4 and the other receivers are in MPEG-2. Eventually they will all be in MPEG-4.

No, you are not able to use the LNB from DISH Network and receive dtv signal. Our receivers and LNB decode the signal to bring the picture to your TV.

The iPad does not have a infrared transmitter. You can use the Logitech Harmony Link to connect to your iPad and then control your Dish Network receiver.
Can you use Tivo with dish network service?

You can use the dish but not the LNB; it will not work for dtv. The DISH Network LNB and the receiver decodes the signal and gives you a picture on your TV.
Will a sling link work with a dish dvr receiver?
No, you cannot use the sling adapter with a 625 Receiver. You will need to upgrade to a 722 Receiver. Call Dish Network they have some good existing customer promotions allowing you to upgrade to a 722 Dish Receiver.
