Can you put Aloe Vera Gel on a Pitbull Terrier's skin?

[Edit]

Answer

Aloe Vera is a healing plant, but, sometimes it's best to go to the vet and see what the problem is before your self medicate your pet. If you don't it could simply end up costing you a bigger vet bill.

Answer

Adding a couple of spoons of olive oil to their food makes their coat shiny and moisturizes their skin, I have 3 Pit Bulls so I know it works!!!

I would ask a vet or dermatologist before doing so.

Answer

I own an American Staffordshire Terrier and they are quite similar to Pit bulls. I know from experience that this type of terrier breed have very sensitive skin. Like the answer above, olive oil is good for their coat. I add a raw egg to my dogs dinner once a week for her coat. If your dog has a wound and you want it to heal up fast, I have used Polysporin and it works great for dogs too. Just don't let your dog lick it off, it's not to be taken orally.
