Talk to your hairdresser and she will have a solution for you. Many black Americans do beautiful things to their hair (beading, etc.) and they can wash their hair without taking these tiny braids out.

Actually, I believe that you are talking about relaxing the hair, and even if you are not. Don't do it. Braiding is actually like basket weaving hair. It creates creases in your hair and if you add any chemicals that need to be washed out, you won't be able to thoroghly wash the chemicals out causing extreme hair damage and breakage. The most you should do is wash and condition the braids and grease the scalp. Even after a service of perm or relaxing to the hair, your hair is very fragile and you should wait at least two weeks before braiding your hair.some people braid very tight and after such chemical services your hair wont be strong enough to take the pulling, causing your edges to fall right on out! Don't do it!!!

There are many ways. I split my hair down the middle or a little to one side so I can have to braid going down the side of my head.Grab three pieces of hair like a regular braid. Twist it once as usual and grab a piece of hair from one side. Add it into one of the three pieces and twist once like a normal braid. Get another piece of hair and add it into one of the three pieces. You do that the whole way down until you run out of hair.I suggest looking videos up on Youtube. Describing is very hard. Especially on the internet.to french braid your own hair takes alot of practice. Before doing it on myself i practiced it on my old dolls and now im extremly good at it! Remember add on hair then cross over. Sooner or later you get very quick at it. But remeber anything like this takes time and practice. :)8. Now do that all the way down until you get to the point where you dont have any more hair to add into the braid.9. At this point just braid down with your three strands that you had in the begining until you want to tie it.10. Repeat on the other side and your all set!!!The braids should come out looking crimped and beuatiful, AND ROCKIN!!! So if you dont feel like putting twenty or thirty little braids in your hair for the same effect just do these steps!!!p.s If its your first time trying french braids, i beg you dont do it on a day where your going out in public and if you are and it doesnt turn out right make sure you have a streightener. im only saying this because my hair used to be diffrent and my hair turned out great after french braids but with my new hairstyl( scene hair) it doesnt turn out to well. In the morning add hairspray so tha tit can stay... that should work. : ] sure..you can try to sleep with braids in your hair but if your hair is thin only do 2 braids if you hair is thick like mine u want to do 4, dont leave it in to long or else it looks like you crimped your hair. So leave it in AFTER you shower then take it out in the morning and just touch up the curls with a curlying iron.
